Annual General Meetings

2018 APSA Annual General Meeting

The 2018 APSA AGM will be held during the APSA / IPSA / OCIS World Congress at the Brisbane Convention Centre, Mezzanine Level, Room GH-Q2 at 9am on Tuesday 24 July, 2018.

The Agenda and accompanying documents include Attachments 1-3, 6, and 7. Attachments 4 and 5 are the Executive Committee nominations forms which can be found below, and are Word documents to enable electronic completion.

Elections for APSA Executive Committtee membership will be taking place at this year's AGM. APSA is now calling for nominations for the positions of:

  • Vice President/President Elect for the term 2018-21 (this is a three-year term comprising three consecutive one-year terms of Vice President, President, and Immediate Past President) - Nomination Form
  • Ordinary Member of the Executive for the term 2018-2021 - Nomination Form

If you are interested in either position, or would like to nominate someone else, please complete the relevant nomination form, and please note that the completed form must include the signature of the person being nominated, to indicate their agreement to run for the position. Nomination forms should be returned to Arts-SSPS-APSA@unimelb.edu.au before 9am on Tuesday 24 July, 2018 (that is, before the AGM) or submitted in hardcopy in person at the AGM. Nominations cannot be accepted after the conclusion of the AGM.

Forms will be available at the AGM and, while nominations can also be made from the floor, we encourage members to complete their nominations before the AGM to help facilitate a smooth election.

In the event that there is more than one nomination for either position, voting will occur in the weeks immediately following the AGM via Survey Monkey.

The APSA Executive encourages nominations from candidates for Vice President who have a different gender identification to the incumbent President. This convention of almost 20 years is now embedded in the APSA Consitution and reflects APSA’s commitment to ensuring diversity in the leadership of the Association. The incoming President from July 2018, Professor Sarah Maddison, identifies as female, so in this call we encourage nominations and support for candidates who identify as other than female.
