Public Policy in the 'Asian Century' ConferenceHosted By Melbourne School of Government and Centre for Public Policy, The University of Melbourne CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN9-10 December 2013 The rise of Asia will be a defining feature of the 21st century. Yet the very notion of the ‘Asian Century’ has the potential to unsettle and even transform what we mean by public policy. The Melbourne School of Government is pleased to invite you to our first annual Public Policy in the ‘Asian Century’ Conference exploring the theme of ‘Advancing Opportunities, Meeting Challenges, Preparing for Change’.
The Public Policy in the ‘Asian Century’ conference invites all those working directly or indirectly with public policy to: •explore theoretical and conceptual developments in the field; Join national and international academics, policy makers, practitioners, students, non-profit and private sector representatives as we discuss and debate the implications of the ‘Asian Century’ for how public policy is made, managed and governed. The conference invites abstracts which address concerns across a range of conference themes, including: Setting the context for public policy in the ‘Asian Century’; Exploring similarities and differences; Doing Public Policy in the ‘Asian Century’; Shifting boundaries, changing roles.
